About Us
MacGregor Elementary School is one of eight elementary schools in the Bay City Public School District. MacGregor Elementary is located on the south-end of Bay City, Michigan a city near Saginaw Bay at the juncture of two major freeways, US 10 and I-75. Bay City is part of the ‘tri-cities’, including Saginaw and Midland.
We are a MiBLSi School which stands for Michigan’s Integrated Behavior & Learning Support Initiative. This initiative is supported by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). The MDE supports schools with developing school wide initiatives in reading and behavioral support systems. The following initiatives are a part of MacGregor’s comment in the MiBLSi Initiative:
- Teaching of Macgregor’s school behavior expectations, “Mustangs Must”, to create a place where all students can learn
- Regular acknowledgement of positive student behavior and accomplishments
- Consistent procedures for dealing with behaviors that disrupt learning
- 90 minutes of reading instruction every day, that we will work to protect from disruption
- Classroom level supplemental reading programs
- Intervention Reading Programs
- Teachers will analyze systematic data in reading and behavior
