Fourth Grade

Welcome to an exciting year in fourth grade! This year will bring many challenges and much excitement. We can all work together to make this a successful year for your child.

Our fourth grade classroom community will focus on respecting each other and acting responsibily.

In math we will be covering geometry, multiplication and division (study those facts!), fractions, decimals, percents, problem solving, along with many other concepts. Each week, your child is working in the computer lab using the new program, Math Facts in a Flash, to help with basic facts.

In science, we will begin the year learning about the solids,liquids  and  gases. During the second marking period, we will study  the  sun, moon and  earth  along  with  electricity.. We will finish the year with food chains and webs. Remember to ask your child what they have learned in science and what activities they have done that week!

In social studies, your child will be learning about our State of Michigan. Geography, economics, history, and government will be on the agenda.

It is important for homework to be complete and handed in on time. Please check with your child to see what needs to be finished for the following day. They also have planners that are written in daily to keep track of assignments.
